The router ends up on the floor, or on a windowsill behind the curtain, or balanced on top of the cable box. Then the cables pool underneath it. This shelf takes all of that off the surface and puts it on the wall, two tiers deep.

It hangs on adhesive hooks. No drilling, no anchors, no hole filler when you move out. The maker also ships screws and wall plugs, in case you would rather fix it properly. Both sets come in the box.

Two tiers. The router sits on top, the cable box goes underneath. A channel runs down all four sides of the frame, so you can drop the cables down the back instead of letting them hang off the front.

How to choose: Four sizes: 11.8 in, 15.7 in, 23.6 in and 31.5 in. Measure the wall first, then pick. The 31.5 in version is wide enough for a router and a mesh node side by side.

Best for: rented walls and painted walls. Flats where the counter is the only surface. Set-top boxes, mesh nodes, media players and small streamers that normally sit on the TV stand.

Not ideal for: anything heavier than the maker's rating. The maker lists 5-10 kg (11-22 lb). That is their figure, not a tested one, and there is no independent data to point at. Keep it to boxes and small devices. Do not put a TV on it. And it is not meant for a damp room, because the board is wood-plastic rather than sealed marine ply.

In the box: the frame and both boards, the adhesive hook set, and the screws with wall plugs. Boards ship flat. Unit weight runs from 1.2 lb on the smallest to 3.9 lb on the widest.
