Wall-Mount Ladder Hook, Steel, 5.3 in Deep, 1 or 2 Pack
A step ladder has no good home in a garage. Leaning in the corner, it slides out and lands on your foot. Lying on the floor, it eats the strip you actually walk through. Two of these hooks fix that: screw them into a stud, lift the ladder, and it hangs flat against the wall.
The arm reaches 5.3 in out from the wall and the front lip turns up 1 in, so the ladder rail drops in behind it and stays there when you pull the ladder down. The same pair carries folding chairs, a hand truck, or a coil of hose.
You drill two holes per hook. Sink them into wood and the screws hold on their own. On drywall, find the stud first or use the anchors in the box.
Best for:
- Step ladders up to 6 ft, hung by the top rail
- Folding chairs and stools stacked two deep
- Hand trucks, dollies and creepers
- Garage, shed and utility room walls with exposed studs
Not ideal for:
- Drywall with nothing behind it and no anchor
- Hanging from a ceiling joist (the hook opens upward)
- Outdoor fence rails that take rain
- Anything heavier than a ladder rail can carry: the maker gives no load rating, so we do not invent one
How to choose:
Measure the rail you want to hang. The hook opening is 2.4 in wide and 1 in deep at the lip, which takes a standard step ladder rail or a folded chair frame.
One hook holds a ladder level only if the rail sits close to the wall. Two hooks, spaced about a third of the ladder length apart, keep it straight and stop it swinging. That is why the 2-Pack is the one most people want: the second hook is for the other end of the ladder.
In the box:
The hook or hooks you picked, plus mounting screws and wall anchors. Nothing else is needed. You supply a drill and a bit sized for your wall.
