Kayak and SUP Wall Mount Hooks, 15 in Reach, 2 or 4 Pack

Our two kayaks spent three summers on the garage floor. Every time I wanted the mower out I had to drag them across the concrete, and one of them picked up a scratch along the keel that I still see. These hooks ended that in an afternoon.

You put two hooks on the wall, lift the boat, and set it down across the arms. That is the whole install. Each hook reaches 15 inches (38 cm) out from the wall and stands 10.5 inches (27 cm) tall. The gap between the two arms is 5 inches (12.5 cm), and that gap is what decides whether your boat fits.

Both arms wear a thick foam sleeve, so the hull sits on foam instead of steel. That matters more than it sounds. The plastic on a sit-on-top scuffs when you slide it over bare metal, and the foam also keeps the boat from rocking every time the garage door slams.

Mine carry a 12-foot sit-on-top and a paddleboard on one pair, one hook each. Measure the thickest part of your own hull where it will rest: anything up to 5 inches across sits fine.

Two things I want to be straight about. The maker does not publish a load rating, so I am not going to invent a number for you. And the screws are not in the box. Each hook has one pre-drilled hole in its plate, so buy a structural screw or a lag bolt that suits your wall and hit a stud if you can.

Best for: Kayaks, SUPs, surfboards and wakeboards that are eating floor space in a garage, a basement or a boat shed.

Not ideal for: Hulls thicker than 5 inches where they rest, and walls you cannot drill into something solid.

How to choose: Measure the thickest point of the hull where it will sit on the arm. Under 5 inches, with 15 inches of clear wall, and this holds it.
