I got tired of my ironing board falling over every time I opened the garage closet. It would lean against the wall, then slide down and take the iron with it. So I put up this wall mount and got both off the floor and out of the way. The main body is 11 inches (28 cm) tall, and with the lower hooks it runs 15.75 inches (40 cm) top to bottom. It is 6.1 inches (15.5 cm) wide and sticks out 4.9 inches (12.4 cm) from the wall.

The top part is shaped like an iron, with perforated holes to let heat escape. That means you can put a warm iron down without waiting for it to cool completely. The front lip keeps the iron from sliding off, and the bottom has a small tray formed by a raised edge. That tray is where the cord goes, so it stops turning into a tangled knot on the shelf.

Underneath, two steel wire hooks hold your folded ironing board. Slide the board in vertically and it hangs there instead of tipping over. The whole thing mounts with screws and wall anchors that come in the box. I put mine in the garage by the outlet, but it works in a laundry room, a closet, or a mudroom corner.

One thing I need to be straight about: the maker has not published a load capacity for this rack. So I cannot give you a weight limit. Use your own judgment based on your iron and board. The steel hooks and the heat-resistant PBT tray feel solid, but I will not invent a number.

The rack comes in Black or White. It ships in a box that measures 33 by 16 by 11 cm and weighs 520 grams. You get the tray, the two wire hooks, the screws, and the wall anchors. You just need a drill and a level to get it straight.

Best for: Anyone who wants their iron and folded board off the floor and off the shelf in a garage, laundry room, or closet.

Not ideal for: Ironing boards that do not fold flat, and walls you cannot drill into something solid.

How to choose: Fold your board and look at the frame bar at the wide end — if it can drop between two hooks, this holds it.

In the box: One PBT heat-resistant tray with steel wire hooks, plus screws and wall anchors for mounting.
