You rent, so you cannot drill. Or you can drill but you would rather not put four holes in a wall for a rail you might move next year. Either way you want a rail up today, and you want it to still be there next month.

This rod presses between two flat surfaces and holds on outward pressure. Twist the inner tube out until both ends touch, lock the length, and it is up. No drill, no screws, no glue, no tools. The rubber foot at each end is what stops it sliding and keeps the paint clean.

How to choose: measure the gap first, then take the span that covers it - 27.6 to 43.3 in, 43.3 to 63 in, or 63 to 82.7 in. Leave a little room at each end. The rod has to push outward to hold, so a gap sitting right at the top of a span is harder to set than one in the middle of it.

Best for: window walls, closet gaps and laundry corners where a rail is missing. Curtains and sheers, clothes on hangers, smalls on clips. Rented places where the deposit matters, and rooms you rearrange more than once.

Not ideal for: slanted, hollow, paper-thin or crumbling surfaces - it has to push against something solid. Not for outdoors or a room that stays damp. And it holds the way a pressure rod holds, so keep the load spread: a row of shirts is fine, a pile of wet bedding on one spot is not. The maker publishes no load rating, so there is no weight figure to quote.
